Check out the Blog HERE.

Austin, TX Renegade Handmade Premier (September 6th)

I am quoting from this fun blog HERE

Please visit Model Citizen Here. She will be there!!

"On Sunday, September 6th The Alamo Drafthouse is hosting the Austin premier of Handmade Nation! A documentary about the craft movement in America by Faythe Levine. If you read my blog I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you are crafty - or a crafty connoisseur - ergo you must go to the premier. It's mandatory.
Faythe has been traveling all over - premiering her documentary 1 city at a time & I've been eagerly awaiting it's arrival to the Lone Star State! So you can only imagine how thrilled I was to be asked to come and sell Model Citizen Clothing @ the premier! I've got some new stuff that isn't available in the shop yet! Ooh Aah! Other crafty Austinites will be there too - such as Sublime Stitching, Naughty Secretary Club, Made With Sweet Love, Ramonster, One Creative Girl, Pommes Frites & More! Come out, shop, see the film, check out some awesome demo's by Yudu, Wondercraft & Rachel Hobson! It's guaranteed to be an inspiring day! Tickets are still available through the Alamo Drafthouse!"

Le Dressing Room in Paris!!

Oh this shop is adorable. The girly pink sets the mood, and their mascot is a French Bulldog!! Too cute. See more about the shop on Myspace Here.

Highland Park (Chicago) Kids Trunk Show/Craft Fair

I had previously contacted you regarding a childrens designer trunk show style shopping event that I organized. The last one was a great success and I am organizing 2 more this month. The concept is still the same - it's boutique style shopping at discounted prices featuring local vendors. Both locations are existing retail spaces with good walking traffic.

This will be the 5th show I've organized, the past being in Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park and the South Loop. The past shows have proven to be a profitable venue to introduce our products to a new audience as well as liquidate excess/past season’s inventory.

Below is information regarding the 2 upcoming events. Because the venues are real retail spaces up for lease I could only finalize the details in the last couple of days and would need confirmation of your participation before this coming Wednesday.

ARMITAGE SHOW
- 3 days August 21-23 Friday to Sunday
- regular store hours 9:30 - 7:00 pm
- retail storefront on Armitage and Fremont (by Lush, Paul Frank Store, Camelot)
- will have no more than 8 vendors

HIGHLAND PARK SHOW
- 3 days August 28, 29 and 30
- regular store hours from 9:00 - 8:00 pm
- retail storefront on 2nd street across Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and Saks 5th Ave
- to coincide with Taste of Highland Park and Port Clinton Art Show
- will have no more than 6 vendors

Should you have questions or require more information I can be best reached at 312-343-4964 or through this email address. Feel free to refer other vendors but we won't have vendors selling the same or similar products and will accept the first one that confirms.

Thank you,

Honey Pot in Asheville, NC

I found a cool etsy artist, Coty Lee, and she is so lucky. She sells her goods in two shops, one of which is called Honey Pot in Asheville. I got all of these images from their MYSPACE Page, so click on the word, and check em out.

Since my friend opened her own shop in Carbondale (Dayshift), she has been so nice to let me sell my goods there. So, I am now even more interested in small boutique shop setups now. If anyone has any more info about cool shops I can search out, please comment below. I would love to do a feature on them and learn more!!

Oliver + S Trunk Shows

I love this company. They sew and produce patterns for beautiful childrens' clothing.

And, they have this sewing program/license that you can buy for only $6. It allows you to use their patterns/designs and sew them in your shop. You are required to sew one of their cute tags in the garment, but wow, what a great deal if you have a fun shop.

You can see the trunk show at the following locations:

* Waechter's Silk Shop Asheville NC, June 2-June 15
* Seams Like Home Quilt Shoppe, Anchorage AK, June 19-July 3
* Colonial Quilts, Savannah GA, July 10-July 24
* Bay Window Quilt Shop, Perham MN, July 30-August 13
* The Stitchin' Post, Sisters OR, August 18-September 7

Please take a look at their shop or blog...

South Wedge Farmers' Market in Rochester, NY

To visit their site, please click here...

"Urban residents increasingly confront issues associated with access to fresh and nutritious foods, connections to local agriculture, neighborhood-based social activity, localized efforts of economic development, and health status. At the same time, essential to the sustainability of small, ecologically sound farms, and the rural communities they are part of, is a viable market wherein agricultural products can receive a fair price and farmers are able to make living wages. These needs provide the context for a common solution: an effective, organized strategy to connect local, ecologically sound farms to a viable urban marketplace in a way that enhances food availability and security, public events, community arts, social capital, and neighborhood based economic development.

In 2007, a group of community residents, local farmers, and professionals in the field of agriculture and food came together to create The South Wedge Farmers’ Market (SWFM), situated in an urban neighborhood in Rochester. Through this partnership and leadership, SWFM has established itself as an extremely successful market for both farmers and community residents, and has modeled one approach to the above-mentioned strategy. This small, principled farmers’ market far exceeded the expectations of the participating farmers, its customers, and the organizing group. It produced more than $90,000 in sales for participating farms and food producers, a wonderful shopping and social experience for an average of 700 neighborhood residents on Thursday evenings throughout the season, a venue for local businesses to connect with the community, a place for local musicians and artists to perform and display, and a genuine connection between Rochester and its surrounding rural and agricultural communities.

The SWFM is looking forward to another wonderful and exciting season in 2008. The market will operate May 1st through November, Thursday evenings 4 to 8 at the corner of S. Clinton and Alexander. See you at the market!"

Please stop by and support local goods!

Fantastic Toys @ Powderhorn Art Fair 2009

So, I found this amazing artist from searching The Arts & crafts fairs & shows group on Flickr. I really love that group, it gives me great inspiration for all things crafty.

This artist, Fantastic Toys says these pics are from their first outdoor art/craft show, but they sure look like they know what they are doing. Some people are lucky enough to be bore with natural talent!!
